Pulling The Threads Part 1
A look into interesting connections regarding Rhode Island CD1 Candidate Sabina Matos' fraudulent signatures
Rhode Island has been filled with controversy this week over fraudulent signatures obtained for, Lt. Gov and democratic candidate for the CD1 special election race, Sabina Matos. It’s gone from one jurisdiction to three to the entire district, from local police investigating that district to state police and the AG investigating and from one person submitting fraudulent signatures (Holly McClaren) to two (Shannon Gallagher).

At this time, I will be focusing on Holly McClaren.
Matos said on Friday, that McClaren collected signatures for her as a campaign field worker through the vendor Harmony Solutions.

Friday, on the Matt Allen show, when asked if he was worried about the validity of his signatures for his last campaign since McClaren was a part of that collection, Governor McKee said that he was acquainted with her and could say hi to her on the street and that he wasn’t worried about his signatures because his last campaign because he was endorsed and that they got “thousands” of signatures so they would have enough. If she also provided fraudulent signatures for those candidates and/or himself shouldn’t all of those who benefited be a bit concerned?

She seems to have even made it into his campaign add for Governor.
“Political operative” is a title most don’t want to admit exists and yet….
So, who is Holly McClaren? Could the first person behind these signatures also be known as Holly Cekala?
That would prove to be very interesting considering this-
It seems they may know her better than they are admitting…possibly. Matos “made housing a top priority” added to all of Holly Cekala involvement in housing here is RI.
Speaking of housing, Holly Cekala also seems to have been under investigation by the NH AG while being involved with housing in that state. What would this mean for the current RI AG investigation? Anything?
How many people can say they have been invested by 2 AGs in their lifetime for fraud of some kind? How many of those would you confidently say were not guilty? These connections are interesting to say the least.
*Let’s all forget to remember the 6 fraudulent endorsements Matos said she had a couple months ago. *
“I would say that if Sabina Matos continues to have a campaign that in the most charitable interpretation is that it was sloppy counting…she’s going to open herself up to being dishonest”, said Lawless.
Lawless looks to have been right on point back in May.
For Matos to deny any responsibility for the actions of her campaign members “independent vendor” or not is disturbing and to remain on the ballot when others have been removed this week for less seems to be a bit off base as well even if we leave out the part where she lied about endorsements. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that those signatures submitted are legal. So why is she on the ballot still? Should she not excuse herself or be removed due to the pending investigation?
The BOE meeting was quite spicy, especially at the end after Matos’ attorneys spoke to the removal of the contesting of her signatures, as other candidates were removed from the ballot on Friday.
Executive session ends and open session begins at the 1:42:00 mark but the chaos reaches its peak at the 2:45:00 until the end of the video.
“…I’m addressing it for the state of Rhode Island and for all the people out there who’s are being voices that are being stripped. I see it, see it, we all see it, and the time has come. Everyone is being exposed for their wrongdoing.” stated Bella Noka, tribal elder of the Narragansett Aboriginal Nation and democratic CD1 race candidate.
Is she right? Were these signatures not accepted by the election officials on purpose to keep them off the ballot because as candidate Mickeda Barnes said, “…you guys already have an agenda. You already have who you want to put already in Cicillini’s seat.”? Is she right when she says she was told “they already wanna put Matos there and they wanna put DaSilva in as Lt. Governor”?
This story seems to heat up by the minute and there are a ton of things to question as it continues to develop so stay tuned.
